In the hills between Florence and Impruneta we have redeveloped a typical Tuscan farmhouse surrounded by olive trees. The project involved a general reorganization of the interior spaces of the house, keeping the living areas on the ground floor, properly sanitized and isolated from humidity, and positioning the bedrooms on the upper floor. All the typical features of rural architecture have been safeguarded and incorporated into the new project, made of clean lines and simple solutions. The original building has been divided into two separate apartments and all energy provisions have been newly created.
Wooden floors are combined with natural lime plasters and white and cream-colored paint, with wooden fixtures and frames in stone. The new surfaces are made with gres, resins, and special processes such as surfaces treated with jute mesh drowned in resin. The external areas have been renovated, creating a large courtyard paved in local stone with simple but elegant external lights that enhance the private garden, characterized by the presence of old olive trees and oaks.
